Falling Skies Facebook Fan Treat!

Followers of Falling Skies Facebook page got a little treat this week with the revelation of a new poster to promote the upcoming season.  Featured on the poster are the new upgraded "Mechs" the 2nd Mass has been fighting all along and the new species that landed in season two's finale.

I like the look of the Mechs.  More streamlined less clunky, gone is the resemblance to a two legged crustacean.  The shoulder firing pods look like some borrowed from Iron Man's armor and I wonder if that third appendage up there is a high intensity light or some sort of major weapon system that fires energy bolts.

The figure to the right is the new ally to the human race or at least I'm assuming as much since it says "new allies" beneath him.  He's definitely humanoid and we see him without any sort of breathing apparatus or space helmet.  Does this mean he is from an Earth like planet or is it artistic license?

Or new friend does have a name as does his race and I'll reveal that courtesy of EW.com later.

The color scheme of the poster is typical of what we get from Falling Skies.  Cold hues of black and blue that add certain menace and a grim nature to the picture.  You'll note our two figures stand amidst the ruins of battlefield Earth.  I guess our planet is their playground to settle their differences.  Sparks fly in the foreground also.  They could be residue from the particle beam weapon the Mech has used or they could be embers from a burning and ravaged Earth.  Poor Charleston, maybe Boston is on the mend!

Come to think of it, if you read "New Enemies" and "New Allies" in a different way it could mean that the original invaders, the Espheni or Overlords, have a new ally and they are our new enemy.  Yikes, that would mean major trouble for Earth.  Let's hope the original interpretation holds true and the new race race is our friend.

If you follow this link to the EW.com interview page you'll get a bunch of season 3 spoilers including the nature of our new visitors.  For those who want to know the name to the new visitors right away see below after the spoiler warning.

*Spoiler Warning*

The new race is called the "Volm" and our new friend is nicknamed "Cochise".  Interesting he gets the name of the great Apache warrior chief that sadly represents a conquered people.  Are they trying to be ironic?
(If the Vohm are a distant relative to the North American Indian that have come back to retake their land through time and space I would be all for it.  That would be both courageous and inspired.)

(My earliest prediction to the now dubbed "Vohm" was that they were some sort of rival space gang to the Espheni or they were some sort of Space Police looking to track the Espheni down for their crimes.  Of course, they also could be a conquered or wronged race of the Espheni that have rebuilt themselves and are now looking for revenge.  That would be pretty cool also.)

The Return of "Falling Skies".

Well, well, well I haven't posted a thing about "Falling Skies" in a long, long time.  Suddenly, there is plenty to talk about.  Do I have the time right now?  Not really.  But I had to put something up!

I do want to talk about all the video teasers that have been released.  Moon Bloodgood's interview gaffe (I think) and the spoilers revealed by EW magazine.  (That straighten out Bloodgood's gaffe)

In the meantime there have been quite a few posters released on the Falling Skies Facebook page that are actually quite interesting.  (Doesn't the top poster look like a silhouette of Hal?)

How's this for propaganda from the Espheni...

How's that for a recruitment poster?!!!

The next one entitled, "Know Your Ally" is dripping with a double meaning.

Are The New Kids On The Block a wolf in Sheep's clothing?  We'll find out soon!

Follow the link to the Falling Skies Facebook page for more poster art.

I'll be back soon lamenting that the show is still set in Charleston, South Carolina.  Please come back to Boston Falling Skies!
